Personal Trainers Unite in the Fight against Obesity in Australia

Personal Trainers are striving to improve the health of Australian communities with free group Personal Training and fitness sessions to celebrate World Personal Trainer Day on Saturday 20th August.

World Personal Trainer Day, an initiative of the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers, will bring together fitness professionals and their local communities to promote the importance of health, wellness, regular physical activity and work/life balance.

 The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers CEO, Kylie Fahey, says “With the increase in obesity it is time for people to make the choice for a healthier lifestyle.”

The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers is working together with Obesity Prevention Australia to promote the 7 Healthy Australia Initiatives;

  • Healthy Futures
  • Healthy Lives
  • Healthy Homes
  • Healthy Workplaces
  • Healthy Ageing
  • Healthy Professionals
  • Healthy Policy and Media

Obesity Prevention Australia is a non profit organisation committed to reversing the obesity and inactivity epidemic that is debilitating our nation.

A minimum 140 Australians die prematurely every day from obesity related disease. These diseases are largely preventable through diet, exercise and healthy lifestyle education.

This year’s World Personal Trainer Day will bring together Personal Trainers with their local community for a free outdoor group training session.  Interested trainers and participants can register FREE at www.aipt.com.au

World Personal Trainer Day is an annual event designed to link the community with the Personal Training profession in the interest of health and wellness.

People participating in World Personal Trainer Day will be partnered with local fitness professionals. Previous popular events have included a treadmill challenge, row-a-thon, Bootcamps, group classes and Pilates.

Interested participants and Personal Trainers can register for FREE at www.aipt.com.au/personal-training-events. For more information on World Personal Trainer Day, contact the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers on 1300 13 84 34.
